Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a casting having uniform shape without a shrinkage hole in the inner part of a cast block and surface defect such as crack and remarkable ruggedness.
SOLUTION: In a method for producing the metallic casting, in the case of repeating an operation comprising a step of obtaining a molten part by melting a solidified part developed on the surface of molten metal poured into a mold and a step of obtaining the molten part by remelting the solidified part obtained by solidifying the above molten part, the operation of remelting a zone having an area not broader than the area of the above molten part is repeated. Further, when melting and solidification of the surface of the molten metal is repeated, the repetition is performed while narrowing the zone to the center part from the rim part of the surface of the solidified part in the molten metal. Furthermore, on the solidified surface of the metallic casting, recessed part of almost ellipsoidal shape are formed stepwise.
