Abstract:
PURPOSE: To easily obtain spherical slag having regulated sphericity and particle size by scattering molten slag with gas jetted from a nozzle and rapidly quenching the scattered molten slag.
CONSTITUTION: A nozzle 3 is set so that it communicates with a holding furnace 2 contg. molten slag. This molten slag is scattered from the orifice 7 in the nozzle 3 with gas 9 jetted from the nozzle 3 and the scattered molten slag is rapidly quenched and solidified in the form of spherical powder.
