Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a steel cord band made endless constant in both of peripheral length and pitch by spirally winding steel cords around a winder under constant tension at a constat pitch and applying treated rubber to both surfaces of the obtained steel cord row to bond the same thereto under pressure by a pressure bonding roller.
CONSTITUTION: The leading ends of steel cords W0 are fixed and base plates 11, 12 are rotated to train the steel cords W0 over respective rubber rollers 15 at a constant pitch by the movement of a traverser 23. After a predetermined number of the steel cords are trained over the rollers, the steel cords W0 from the traverser 23 are cut and the terminals of them are fixed to the trained-over steel cords W0 to form a steel cord row. Unvulcanized rubber sheets (treated rubber) 35, 36 are supplied from reels 33, 34 to be applied to both surfaces of the steel cord row W and bonded thereto under pressure by a pair of pressure bonding rollers 31, 32.
