Abstract:
To measure a kinetic friction coefficient using motion images quite simply without directly measuring friction force.SOLUTION: A kinetic friction coefficient measurement device 1 comprises: a memory 6 that stores each of frames F1, F2, F3, ...Fk... of still images of an object O sliding on a surface; an image recognition unit 8 that recognizes the object O in each frame, and identifies an area of the object; a position calculation unit 9 that analyzes an area image of the identified object O in each frame and calculates a position p of the object O; a velocity calculation unit 10 that calculates a velocity v of the object O on the basis of the position p of the object O and a frame rate of a video camera 2 in each frame; an acceleration calculation unit 11 that calculates acceleration a of the object O on the basis of the velocity v of the object O and the frame rate; a kinetic friction coefficient calculation unit 12 that calculates a kinetic friction coefficient μ(p,v) as a function between the position p and the velocity v on the basis of the acceleration a and gravitational acceleration; and an output unit 13 that outputs the calculated kinetic friction coefficient μ.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
