To present contents of information presented in the past by updating importance of display information in a retrieval interface during presentation.
While the presentation information is displayed on a display apparatus, external data acquired through an input device are recorded and feature quantities are obtained from the external data. The importance is calculated by accumulating the feature quantities for each section in a period for displaying the presentation information. A first index information for a part of presentation information corresponding to the section having the importance exceeding a threshold is generated and presented along a time axis. The contents of the presentation information displayed in the past are retrieved in response to operations for selecting the first index information and displayed on a display apparatus. A second index information for a part of presentation information corresponding to the section selected is generated, and the second index information is added to the first index information listed along the time axis and presented.
