To easily form an anti-stick layer, in providing an anti-stick layer to a roofing material wherein high temp. liquid petroleum asphalt is applied to a strip like carrier material, by supplying a high temp. roofing material to a cooling rotary cylinder having a mat equipped with an anti-stick material and a cooling liquid arranged to the periphery thereof.
When a strip like material 1 coated with high temp. liquid petroleum asphalt is transferred to a cooling cylinder 4, the excessive asphalt material is removed from the strip like material 1 by calibration rollers 2, 3 to set the thickness of the coated strip like material to predetermined roofing material thickness. The cooling cylinder 4 has an inner cooling conduit and a cooling fluid is allowed to flow through the conduit to cool the strip like material 1. A mat made of a metal or plastic is arranged between the cooling cylinder 4 and the strip like material and has an open structure and an endless belt form to be circulated through a roller group 7-9 and, during this operation, the anti-stick soln. in a container 6 is applied to one surface of the strip like material 1.
