Title:
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PURIFYING OIL CONTAINING IMPURITY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS55147595
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make it possible to purify an oil containing impurities in a high degree, by a method wherein more than one pair of electrodes are arranged within a oil in which impurities are dispersed and floated and, between these electrodes, an electrolytic charging apparatus applying voltage and a mechanical separating apparatus are used together.

CONSTITUTION: The insulating property of an oil containing impurities in a oil storage tank is measured by an electric conductivity meter 22 and the applied voltage of an electrolytic charging apparatus 24 is correctly regulated by a voltage regulating apparatus 35. The impurity particles within an oil are charged by an electric field charging apparatus 24 and are coagulated while attracted to an electrode and, after said particles become larger, sent to a raw liquid introducing port 2 of a centrifugal separator 25 through an arranged pipe 31 and, herein, solid substances 27 and water 26 are removed, on the other hand, a purified oil is returned to an oil storage tank 21 through an arranged pipe 28 and again treated along with a polluted oil. In the case of an oil with a high pollution degree which is hardly treated by electric field, a polluted oil is directly passed through a centrifugal separator 25 by using a bypass pipe 32 to remove impurities and, after electric field charging treatment is enabled, again returned to a storage tank 21 and treated by an electric field charging apparatus 24.
