Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable recovery with high purity by adding a complexing agent forming a complex with a first liquid into a mother liquor contg. a first liquid and second liquid having b.p. approximate to each other and precipitating the complex.

CONSTITUTION: TiCl4 which is the complexing agent is added to the mother liquor of a line 12 obtainable from an olefin polymn. catalyst production system 14 consisting of tetrahydrofuran(THF) and toluene, etc. The mother liquor is supplied to a cooling device 30 of a first recovering area 28 where the mother liquor is cooled to about 0°C. The cooled mother liquor is supplied to a precipitating device 32, where the resulted precipitate of the TiCl4.2THF complex is separated form the mother liquor by an effluent stream 33. The remaining from the liquor is then heated in a preheated 34 and is supplied to a first distillation column 36 where the mother liquor is distilled. The heavy-duty component, THF and the component of the b.p. higher than that of the toluene are separated by the effluent stream 37. The resulted distillation liquid is supplied into a second distillation column 38 where the high purity toluene, hexane, TiCl4 and THF are recovered from the mixture by the operation of recovering the toluene by an effluent stream 39, the THF by a distillate effluent stream 40, etc.
