The method has a cutting process forming a cut material by cutting the packing material; an agitation/mixture liquid preparing process preparing an agitation/mixture liquid comprising a paper base material and a solid separation material based on the cut material by agitating a cut material mixture liquid prepared by immersing the cut material into a separating medium; a first separation process separating the paper base material from the solid separation material; a vibration process preparing a resin/metal mixture liquid comprising a resin part 52 and a metal part 51 of a metal deposition film by immersing the solid separation material into the separating medium and irradiating the solid separation material with ultrasonic waves; and a second separation process separating the resin part 52 from the metal part 51. Since the resin part 52 can be separated from the metal part 51, the packing material can be sufficiently recovered.
