PURPOSE: To perform a self-completing recovery of valuable gas as combustible gas for purging operation to be discharged when an air blowing period is changed over to an air blowing period by a method wherein a gas recovery branch pipe having a flow valve is disposed at a bottom part of a heat accumulation chamber or a chimney passage from the bottom part to a chimney and then an opening or closing of the valve is adjusted by sensing composition or calorie value of gas discharged when the heat accumulation chamber is to be purged and before or after the heat accumulation chamber is to be purged.
CONSTITUTION: A branch pipe is 12 is disposed in a chimney passage 8 leading from a heat accumulation chamber 1 to a chimney 10. A chimney passage valve 11 is closed when combustible gas from the heat accumulation chamber 1 is purged and flows in the chimney passage and a charing-over valve 13 is opened and then combustible gas can be stored in a gas holder 14 through a gas cleaning device 15. In this case, when gas components are analyzed, valuable gas components are reduced due to mixing of the purged gas and becomes required minimum values, the charing-over valve 13 is closed, the chimney passage valve 11 is opened and then an operation for flowing out the purged gas to the chimney is carried out.
