To provide a roll bending method being capable of flexible formation and enabling bending without occurrence of wrinkles or buckling in a bent surface.
A roll bending apparatus carries out bending processing by holding an object to be processed with a pair of outside rolls arranged outside the area for bending of the object and an inside roll arranged inside the area for bending of the object and feeding the object by rotating the pair of the outside and inside rolls, while pressing the object by the pair of the outside and inside rolls to impart a bending moment, so as to carry out bending processing. Occurrence of wrinkles, buckling, etc. in a processed surface due to stress concentration in bending is suppressed by setting the rotational speed of the outside roll on the back side, in the feeding direction, of the object to be lower than the rotational speed of the outside roll on the front side, in the feeding direction, of the object or reversing the rotation direction of the outside roll on the back side, in the feeding direction, of the object relative to the rotation direction of the outside roll on the front side, in the feeding direction, of the object so as to impart a tensile force to the object and applying a tensile load to the object by a tension mechanism.
