PURPOSE: To provide a method and apparatus for securing safety of stackable laminates during transportation wherein material consumption is small, even heavy articles can be reliably stacked and joined together, the method can be automated in a simple and trouble-free manner, and cost effectiveness is better than known methods.

CONSTITUTION: Complete ring-like winding of a laminate 24 is made only once in a horizontal or vertical direction by a strip-like heat-shrinkable foil. Then ends of the foil at the winding are joined by a cutting/joining means 20. The heat-shrinkable foil wound around the laminate 24 is then heat-shrunk, thereby guaranteeing reliable coupling between articles in the laminate.
