Abstract:

PURPOSE: To certainly separate fluorocarbon from polyurethane foam.

CONSTITUTION: Polyurethane foam 14 before the separation of fluorocarbon is stored in a storage tank 12 to be heated by a heat transfer coil 15 to convert fluorocarbon contained in the cells of the polyurethane foam to a gaseous state and brought to a state easy to destruct cells. This polyurethane foam 14 is ground under heating by the grinding roller 28 of a grinder 24 to destruct cells. Fluorocarbon in cells is separated from the ground polyurethane foam powder. Since separated fluorocarbon becomes a gaseous state, gaseous fluorocarbon is sucked in a bag filter device 34 without being re-bonded to the polyurethane foam powder and subsequently recovered by a fluorocarbon recovery device 48 through filter cloth 36, a duct 42 and a branch duct 46. The heating temp. of the polyurethane foam 14 is pref. set to 100-250°C.
