Abstract:
To provide a method and an apparatus for separating isotopes of gadolinium, by which an enriched product/a scrap metal of gadolinium can be recovered effectively while using an atomic laser method, and which has excellent profitability.
In the method and the apparatus for separating isotopes of gadolinium, a part of the scrap metal of gadolinium obtained in a separating process is added to natural gadolinium by ≤40%, which is then supplied to a preliminarily melting crucible 20 and melted. After that, the melted gadolinium is supplied to an evaporating crucible 3. The cross-sectional shape of a gutter 24 arranged along the lower edge of a product recovering plate 25 is made V-shaped.
