PURPOSE: To surely sever a fiber sliver in replacing a can by fastening the fiber sliver to be torn while the distance between a trumpet cup and a calender roller is enlarged in replacing a can.

CONSTITUTION: A fiber sliver 1 is passed through a trumpet cup 9 and sent to a can through a tail guide 7, a passage 6 and an outflow port 8 at high speed by calender rollers 2, 3. In replacing the can, the trumpet cup 9 is separated from the calendar rollers 2, 3 and a bolt-like fastening member 13 is projected out of a hole 9a of the trumpet cup 9 by the operation of a pressing cylinder 14 to press the fiber sliver 1 to the inner wall of the trumpet cup 9, and tear the same by rotation of the calender rollers 2, 3. After that, the trumpet cup 9 is made close to the calender rollers 2, 3 so that the fiber sliver 1 released from pressing is captured by the calender rollers 2, 3. Thus, can replacement can be surely performed.
