Abstract:

To provide a method and apparatus for sorting plastics, capable of sorting plastics every thickness regardless by suppressing influence due to their shapes.

The method for sorting plastics includes the processes below. The dropping orbit of a charged plastic 2 dropping into a dropping area 7 is changed by at least one electrode member 3 facing the dropping area 7 for dropping the charged plastic 2. In the plastic 21 whose dropping orbit is changed and which is charged to the same polarity, the thick plastics 21a and thin plastics 21b are disposed below the dropping area 7, and in the collection of the plastic into a collecting container 4 having a partition plate 4a partitioning one side area 4b and the other side area 4c, the thick plastics 21a are collected into one area 4b of the container 4 and the thin plastics 21b are collected into the other area 4c.
