Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a noise-free excellent variable-speed playback screen by increasing the information quantity of addresses which are recorded on the control track of a video tape and making a stepped travel of the tape according to the addresses, adjusting tracking at a stop, and reading image data in a memory. CONSTITUTION: The addresses which are three times as many as usual are recorded on the control track of the video tape, and the tape is stopped each time three addresses are jumped. At the same time, automatic tracking adjustment is performed and a track play controller 40 records a 3rd output from an A/D converter 30 in the memory 50. Then data are read out of the memory 50 repeatedly until the tape travels and stops next to generate a slow motion screen. At this time, the track is sectioned and scanned with three heads under the control of a head switching controller 10 to perform high-speed reproduction. Consequently, a noise-free variable-speed playback screen of good quality is obtained.
