The method for seaming the beans is characterized by previously steaming the beans with an exhaust of the regular steaming, then regularly steaming the beans and subsequently allowing the beans to cool. The apparatus for steaming the beans is characterized by dividing a steaming tank into an upper and a lower two stages with perforated shutter plates, using the upper stage as a previous steaming chamber and the lower stage as the regular steaming chamber, installing a discharging chamber with an opening and closing lid connectedly to the lower end of the steaming tank, providing a steam feeding port on the upper inside of the discharging chamber, arranging a charging port for the beans in the upper part of the steaming tank and additionally installing driving means in the shutter plates.
