To enable an entire rear face of a label to be stuck to a workpiece without causing bubbles by successively pressing from one of ends of the label toward the other end by a pressing means.
An apparatus for sticking a label is structured to feed a label sheet wound around a supply reel, peel a label R from a base sheet by a label sheet peeling means and a suction head 14, and take up the base sheet around a take-up reel. The apparatus is structured to detect an end on the side of a pressing roller 21 of the label R sucked by the suction head 14 by a sensor 29, horizontally move the pressing means 21 toward the suction head 14 by a position correcting means 30 based on the detection results, correct the position of the pressing means 21 to immediately above the end of the label R and then move it to above the workpiece, lower the pressing roller 21 and rotate in the advancing direction, and stick the label R while pressing it against the workpiece sequentially from one end to the other end.
