Abstract:

To provide a tire pressure monitoring system that is configured to permit rapid detection of a severe loss of tire pressure while accurately measuring a slow loss (decrease) of tire pressure.

A method for monitoring tire pressure includes performing accurate measurement of pressure, performing approximate measurement of pressure, and then sending a notification signal if a difference between the accurate measurement and the approximate measurement is greater than a predetermined value. An apparatus for implementing the method is also disclosed.
