Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the probability of tracking failure and improve tracking maintenance efficiency by controlling a weighting coefficient of a tracking filter in accordance with a movement performance or clutter environment of a target, or an approaching target.
SOLUTION: Radar signals output at every scan from a radar apparatus are detected and analyzed at an echo signal detection part 1, whereby all echo signals reflected by an object present in a radar search area, etc., are detected. Each of the detected signals is fed to a candidate position extraction part 2 and a target signal detection part 3. A position information of all echo signals present in a track gate among the fed signals is extracted. A rectilinear propagation speed information calculated by a rectilinear propagation speed calculation part 4 and an information on the track gate set at a track gate-setting part 11 are given to a weighting coefficient assigning part 7. The assigning part 7 obtains an arrival estimation area from the present rectilinear propagation speed information calculated at the calculation part 4 and a speed performance information from a database 6. Since the track gate larger enough to cover speed performance of the target is used, the target can be surely tracked.
