To provide an excellent method for treating exhaust and an apparatus therefor by which various harmful components in exhaust gas including organic halogen compounds such as dioxins are efficiently removed and the detoxification process of collected dust and fly ash accompanying the above treatment can be reduced.
The process of detoxifying exhaust gas containing a harmful component includes processes of: (1) introducing the exhaust gas in a temperature range from 350 to 500°C into an electric dust collector 2 to remove soot and dust in the exhaust gas; (2) introducing the exhaust gas after the first process into a catalyst apparatus 3 to remove nitrogen oxides or/and organic halogen compounds in the exhaust gas; (3) controlling the temperature of the exhaust gas after the second process to ≤200°C by a heat recovering means or/and a cooling means 4; and (4) introducing the exhaust gas after the third process into a reaction bag filter 5 and spraying a neutralizing agent to remove the acid component in the exhaust gas.
