Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and high-performance method of removing organic chlorine compounds, e.g. dioxins, from an exhaust gas.
SOLUTION: The method comprises blowing a slurry containing iron hydroxide and/or oxide in a concentration of 1-15 mass% into an exhaust gas of 300-800°C containing dioxins, drying the hydroxide and/or oxide with the sensible heat of the exhaust gas, causing the dioxins to be adsorbed or oxidation-decomposed by the hydroxide and/or oxide and then collecting the solid of the hydroxide and/or oxide.
