Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for treating manganese-containing water capable of removing both of soluble manganese and suspensible manganese in water.
SOLUTION: In an apparatus for treating manganese-containing water having a fluidized bed reaction tower 1 containing manganese sand as a fluidized medium and free from a support floor, the inflow port 14 of carbonate ion-containing water 4 to be treated provided to the bottom part of the reaction tower 1, the treated water outflow port 9 provided to the upper part of the reaction tower 1 and an alkali agent injection port 15 for regulating the pH value of treated water in a fluidized bed 2 to crystallize and remove soluble manganese, a bed 12 of a suspended substance in water to be treated is formed above the manganese sand fluldized bed 2 of the fluidized bed reaction tower 1 and a discharge pipe 11 removing the suspended substance is provided in the bed 12 of the suspended substance. In this case, the pH value of water to be treated is regulated to 8-10 by injecting an alkali agent 15 into water to be treated and, in the fluidized bed reaction tower 1, the horizontal cross-sectional area of the part of the suspended substance bed 12 is made larger than that of the upper part of the manganese sand fluidized bed 2.
