Abstract:
To provide a method for treating a photographic effluent by which the BOD and COD of the photographic effluent can be effectively reduced, and to further provide a method for treating a photographic effluent by which heavy metals such as silver and iron can also be removed and no harmful gas is discharged into the environment.
In the method for treating a photographic effluent, the photographic effluent containing ≤5 mg/l of dissolved oxygen is irradiated with ultrasonic waves having a frequency of 20 kHz to 10 MHz at a power density of an ultrasonic vibrator of 0.5-10 W/cm2 to generate cavities (groups of microvoids), and effluent components in the effluent are decomposed by the cavities.
