Abstract:

To effectively recover ammonia and ammonia-odorless gypsum from slurry containing ammonia and gypsum.

This treating method comprises a step to introduce the slurry containing ammonia and gypsum into a distillation column and separate ammonia from the slurry by distillation without treating the slurry at a gypsum filtering and separating step and a step to filter the bottom residues of the distillation column and recover the gypsum contained in the bottom residues. The distillation column to be used is constituted so that the inside of the distillation column is divided into vertically multiple stages by a plurality of distribution plates for partitioning the inside of the distillation column, and many through-holes are formed on each of the distribution plates, and thus, a vertical flow passage is formed between the adjacent ones of the multiple stages.
