PURPOSE: To restore water purifying capacity by treating the activated carbon and separation filter membrane of a water purifying cartridge with water of specific temp.
CONSTITUTION: A cartridge 1 consists of activated carbon 109 and a separation filter membrane 110 and is supported by a support member 5. In washing the cartridge 1, the water introduced into a water storage part 62 is supplied to the outside space 103 from an inflow port 104 to pass through the activated carbon 109 and finally discharged to the outside from an air vent mechanism 117. Said water is also supplied to an inside space 105 from an outflow port 106 to pass through the separation filter membrane 110 from the inside to the outside and discharged from the air vent mechanism 107 in the same way. By adjusting the temp. of water to be passed to 40°C or more, adsorbed foreign matter can be separated and removed from the activated carbon 109. By this method, water transmitting capacity can be restored.
