Abstract:

PURPOSE: To work the aspheric surface without being affected by the abrasion, etc. of a grinding tool by moving the position of grinding of the grinding tool elastically contacting with the lens to be worked turning at high speed step by step at proper time intervals.

CONSTITUTION: When grinding work is conducted, the lens to be worked 5 is fixed to a holder 26, and an operating switch 68 is operated and the grinding tool 1 is dropped and elastically attached to the lens 5. When the tool 1 contacts with the lens 5, a switch 64 is closed, and the count of grinding time is started. Here, each grinding time at each position in the radial direction from the center of the lens 5 is previously memorized to a computer, a stepping motor 23 is turned at a predetermined angle by a drive circuit 67 every time grinding time at each position is completed, a table 22 is moved in the X direction, and the relative position of the tool 1 and the lens 5 is moved by a fixed quantity.
