PURPOSE: To decrease the liquid sagging and threads trailing of an adhesive when the adhesive is discharged from a discharge nozzle to apply it to a material to be stuck by feeding a solvent in to which the adhesive is soluble to an opening of a discharge nozzle from near the opening.
CONSTITUTION: A drum 1 for an electrophotographic sensitive body is held by a rotatable disc 4 at both the ends, and turned through a timing pulley 7 by a stepping motor, and also the flow of an adhesive transported under pressure by a pressure tank is started and stopped by a constant quantity discharge valve 5, causing the adhesive to be discharged from an adhesive discharge nozzle 2, allowing the adhesive to be applied to inside the ends of the drum. In such an adhesive applicator, the minute quantity of a solvent is discharged from the discharge nozzle 3 through a dispenser and solvent transfer piping 6 immediately after the discharge of the adhesive to feed the solvent to an opening 8 of an adhesive discharge nozzle 2 from near the opening 8 by such an amount that it is not dropped. As a result, the growth of the accumulated adhesive around the nozzle opening 8 is restrained.
