Abstract:

To provide a means of imparting an excellent anti-pilling property to a woven fabric made from an animal hair without damaging the dyeability thereof.

A method of applying an anti-pilling treatment to an animal hair includes immersing an animal hair in a bath of a liquid of pH of 7.0-9.0 comprising monoethanolamine bisulfite by 20-60% on the weight of fiber (owf) at a temperature of 50-90C for a period of 30-180 minutes, washing it with water, and subsequently subjecting it to a neutralization treatment. The woven fabric obtained by practicing the method is broadly applicable in the field of clothing inclusive of inner and outer clothing and is capable of sufficiently enhancing the commercial value of the resulting clothing.
