Title:
METHOD FOR APPLYING CERAMIC COATING TO METAL SURFACE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS63303046
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To form a dense vitreous thermal sprayed film excellent in adhesive strength on the surface of a metal, by subjecting a metallic base material preheated to a specific temp. to flame spraying with a powdered vitreous material of a specific softening point.

CONSTITUTION: A metallic base material is preheated to 300W800°C, and flame spraying with powdered vitreous material of ≤1,000°C softening point (borosilicate glass, lead glass, phosphate glass, etc.) is applied to the above base material to form a thermally sprayed film of about 20W1,000μ thickness. Further,m it is preferable to apply, prior to preheating, blasting treatment to the metallic base material to carry out surface roughing, and the temp. of the flame to be sprayed is regulated to ≤about 2,000°C. By this method, the dense vitreous thermally sprayed film can be formed on the metal surface, and the oxidation resistance, acid resistance, electric insulating property, and attractive appearance of the metal can be improved.
