PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of applying a permanent wave for providing a planar S-shaped wave to hair.SOLUTION: A method of applying a permanent wave includes a first winding step and a second winding step. In the first winding step, hair is wound around a first rod. In the second winding step, hair is wound around a second rod through the hair wound around the first rod in a direction opposite to the direction that the hair is wound around the first rod so that the second rod is brought into contact with the first rod.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
