To bring a reinforcing fabric into close contact with the surface of a die for a transmission belt having groove parts and protruded parts alternately to shape the same.
The reinforcing fabric 30 is placed on the top part of a front protruded part 4a and the top part of the adjacent rear protruded part 4b so as to straddle one groove part 5 of a die 1 [process (1)] and the reinforcing fabric 30 positioned at the groove part 5 is deformed along the surface of the groove part 5 by protruding an up and down movable press member 22 in a state that the reinforcing fabric 30 placed on the top part of the front protruded part 4a is pressed by a first contact member 11 [process (2)]. Thereafter, the reinforcing fabric 30 placed on the top part of the rear protruded part 4b is pressed by a second contact member 17 [process (3)] and, after the first contact member 11, the press member 22 and the second contact member 17 are kept away from the reinforcing fabric 30 brought into close contact with the die 1 [process (4)], the die 1 is rotated by a predetermined angle and the above mentioned processes are repeated to shape the reinforcing fabric 30 on the entire periphery of the die 1 [process (5)].
