PURPOSE: To reserve a sufficient length of a yarn even when a trouble occurred in yarn texturing process.

CONSTITUTION: The subject method and arrangement have such a scheme that a yarn 3 carried from a feeder 12 to a suction unit P2 forms a loop with lower and upper parts 4a, 4b by the aid of airflow running into a housing section 1, thus affording a reserved yarn of a specified length. The lower part 4a moves into the housing section 1, while the upper part 4b (exit side) is fixed because the yarn 3 is held by a gripper 15. The lower side 4a and upper side 4b are surely separated from each other, the fixed end of the lower part 4b being subjected to slight instantaneous force enabling the yarn loop to be returned to the original position. Such an instantaneous force is transmitted either by the action of the gripper 15 or by an additional guide 16 intermittently operating the fixed side at the outlet of the housing section 1.
