Abstract:
To automatically discriminate species of plasmodia.
An apparatus is composed so as to hemolyze erythrocytes in a specimen, liberate the plasmodia, carry out fluorescent staining of the liberated plasmodia, prepare a sample for assaying, detect the fluorescence intensity from the plasmodia in the sample for assaying and judge the species of the plasmodia based on the frequency distribution of the plasmodia having the fluorescence intensity within a prescribed range.
