To provide a method of assembling a vertical transport pipe for improving assembling work for a vertical transport pipe.

An insertion pipe 20 is mounted between a chute pipe 10A on the upper side and a chute pipe 10B on the lower side. Its protrusion length can be adjusted by changing its insertion length. The adjustable range of the protrusion length is set to be longer than a gap between the ends of the two chute pipes 10A, 10B. With the adjustment of the protrusion length of the insertion pipe, the chute pipes on the upper side and on the lower side can be connected to each other via the insertion pipe without being moved after fixed. During the connection, they can be rotated relative to the insertion pipe into which they are inserted. Thus, to a bolt hole of a flange portion of the chute pipe, a flange portion at the end of the other is easily adjustable with proper rotation.
