The method for assigning a common packet channel comprises a step where state information with respect to the common packet channel is received from a system, a step where the common packet channel is selected from the state information, a step where a signature to be mapped by one to one with each scrambling code of the common packet channel selected for the assignment request of the common packet channel is transferred to the system, a step where a channel assignment indicator is received from the system, and a step where a message is transferred to the system via at least one or the assigned common packet channel.
