Abstract:

To assure a low cost and visibility by assigning intensity levels by realizing the assigning intensity levels suitable for the contents of display images.

Display of the images having the upper limit of ≥2 kinds of different gradation data within the same screen is made possible in the assigning intensity levels of the display device. In, for example, the screen constitution shown in Figure, the display is performed by respectively different numbers of gradations (for example, 64 gradations in the range 11 and 256 gradations in the range 12) in the ranges 11 and 12. As a result, only the necessary segments can be subjected to the assigning of the higher intensity levels and a lower cost of products can be realized. In the case the number of the gradation capable of displaying pixels is lower than the number of the gradations of input gradation signals or the like, the assigning of the intensity levels corresponding to the display contents can be performed by using the assigning of the intensity levels by the pixel alone in each pixels, respectively, the assigning of the intensity levels by one unit each with the plural pixels as one unit and/or the assigning of the intensity levels with plural frames as one unit relating to the same pixels.
