Abstract:

PURPOSE: To accurately grasp the amount of grating of functional gradient required for an oblique image by dividing the amplitude limit of a physical gradient by the maximum absolute line sum to create a target amplitude, and using the target amplitude to display the limit of the functional gradient.
CONSTITUTION: In a MRI system including at least two orthogonal gradient coiles 14 along the axes of physical gradients Gx, Gy, Fz respectively having maximum gradient amplitude (h), in the case of deciding the gradient pulse sequence limit regulated along the axes of functional gradients Fs, Ff, Fp, which is used for obtaining an oblique MRI image arranged with a gradient to the physical gradient axis by an electronic computer 18, first the maximum absolute line sum of orthogonal rotation matrix is determined. Subsequently, the maximum gradient amplitude (h) is divided by the maximum absolute line sum to create the target amplitude T. The obtained target amplitude T is used to display the maximum gradient along the functional gradient to be clear from the limits of visual field, slice thickness, space resolving power and the acquisition time.
