To provide a method for automatically preparing and displaying a home page by which a homepage can be prepared, registered and displayed extremely simply and to provide a user information database which is edited easily and useful.

The individual items U1, U2... of user information inputted by a user for preparing a home page are constituted as a random file where the items U1, U2... of individual columns in a single row corresponding to the user information of the URL can be handled as individually separate data in a table-form relational database 20. In response to a homepage browsing request, the URL of the browsing object is retrieved with a retrieval key K from a URL file, and the row of the URL stored in the database 20 is retrieved to extract data on the individual items U1 (the name of a company), U2 (an address), U3 (a telephone number), ... of each column of the browsing-requested user information, and the extracted data are HTML-converted. Then, the resultant data are displayed at a designated place on the screen of the home page on the WWW browser of a client.
