Abstract:
To provide a solvent decomposition avoidance method for stably operating a nonaqueous electrolyte electrochemical device such as a lithium cell, a lithium ion cell, an electric double layer capacitor, and a wet solar cell; and to provide the non-aqueous electrolyte electrochemical device utilizing the method.
The electrochemical device has a non-aqueous electrolyte or a gel electrolyte containing a solvent that is decomposed at potential that is equal to or less than 2V(Li/Li+ pair) on a negative electrode as the negative electrode, a positive electrode, a separator, and the solvent. A compound comprising a chemical structure expression indicated by a formula (1) is added to the non-aqueous electrolyte or gel electrolyte.
