Abstract:
To provide a method for fully bainitic-quenching which can shorten the bainite transformation time without lowering the hardness.
In the bainitic quenching method of a steel used to a bearing and the other load supporting element, the bainite transformation is started at the temp. just exceeding martensite formation temp. and 25-99% austenitic structure is transformed to the bainite at the above described temp. Thereafter, the temp. is raised so as to quicken the transformation of the remaining austenite into the bainite.
