Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disclose both a method for binding off by which the stretchability in the width direction of a knitted fabric is excellent and knitted fabric edges beautiful in appearance can be formed and the knitted fabric subjected to binding off.
SOLUTION: The binding off of the knitted fabric is carried out by performing knitting comprising (1) a step of keeping a loop in the final course of the knitted fabric in a state thereof alternately engaged with needles of both first and second needle beds, (2) a step of feeding a yarn from the end on the knitted fabric side to needles engaging with the loops of the first and third wales and forming felled stitch loops, (3) a step of superimposing the loop in the first wale on the loop in the second wale, (4) a step of reversing the feeder, then feeding a yarn to loops in the fourth and second wales and forming felled stitch loops, (5) a step of superimposing the loop in the second wale on the loop in the third wale, and (6) a step of repeating the knitting in the steps (2) to (5) while changing the loops to be the object of the knitting.
