Title:
METHOD FOR BIOLOGICALLY CONTROLLING DISCOLORING AND DEBARKING OF WOOD PRODUCT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0852708
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce stain of a structural material and to facilitate barking by inoculating an exposed wood surface area of a log with a bark having color staining with bacteria for reducing a pitch of wood with white color/colorless of a color staining reduction effective amount, and growing it on and in the log.

CONSTITUTION: A log or especially an exposed wood or surface area not protected by a bark is grown in a white and/or colorless, and inoculated with bacteria operating to reduce a pitch content of the wood to suppress color staining with the color-staining fungi. Even a structural material can be inoculated to disturb staining of the wood with spreading and staining bacteria thereafter. As one type of the white and/or colorless fungi, particularly Phanerochaete gigantea species are good, and its bark can be easily removed from a residue of the log. The inoculation is conducted most preferably within two days after the structural wood is cut from its log source.
