Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a chemical pulp having a low kappa number and high whiteness in a method for bleaching chemical pulp with a peroxide or ozone.
CONSTITUTION: Before bleaching chemical pulp with a peroxide or ozone, the chemical pulp is simultaneously treated with an enzyme and a chelating agent at one stage or separately treated at two stages and delignification reaction is promoted with an enzyme and a very small amount of metals is removed by a chelating agent. Not only drain load is lightened due to absence of chlorine drain but also organic chlorine compounds to cause an environmental problem are reduced. White water can be reused.
