To make it possible to continuously bond solid glass and glass inclusive of an adhesive layer even if the contours and dimensions thereof vary by heating the glass under a vacuum and pressing the same by using flexible press parts.
Multiple layered banks 1 consisting of glass and charging films are introduced by a conveyor 2 to an assembling device 3. The adhesive layers are, for example, polyvinyl butyral films. Negative pressure is properly generated by closing means 5, 6, 15 and 18. The negative pressure level of a vacuum heating chamber 7 and a vacuum pressing chamber 9 is 1 to 10 hPa. For example, a diaphragm 12 is used as the flexible pressing parts. The diaphragm 12 is pushed down and pushed up by making the atmosphere pressure of a working chamber 13 higher or lower, by which the heated blanks are pressed. The average roughness of the adhesive layers to enable good discharge is 80 to 140 μm. The initiation temperature is about 50°C and a heating rate is adjusted to about 2°C/second up to about 130°C of ordinary assembly temperature.
