To build a wall of an incinerator which develops excellent endurance even when exposed to a severe corrosive atmosphere by using a refractory of a SiC single phase.
An unbaked SiC molded bodies 7 in which SiC particles are bonded by a binder such as alumina, water glass or phosphoric acid is arranged at one stage or multiple stages along a furnace shell 6 and a gap of the adjacent unbaked SiC molded bodies 7 and a gap between the molded body and the furnace shell 6 are filled with an SiC based unshaped refractory 8. The unbaked SiC molded bodies 7 are arranged at a specified interval pertaining to the direction of the surface of the furnace shell 6 and at the right angle thereto. In the building of an incinerator, the proportion of the monolithic SiC refractory used can be increased when the gap of the adjacent unbaked SiC molded bodies 7 is filled with the SiC based unshaped refractory 8. The unbaked SiC molded bodies 7 are fixed on external chamotte bricks by a fixing metal as required. A score line for releasing stress is formed at a proper point to prevent a large buckling and breakage of the refractory of the furnace wall. Thus, this single phase structure of SiC enables obtaining of an incinerator having a wall with the restricted generation of a defect such as buckling, breakage, loss or cracking.
