Abstract:

To reduce a building process of a water jet ship and to prevent danger during the building work.

In a process in which the front end of a suction duct 33 is connected to a water-intake hole 32 opened on a ship's bottom 31 of a hull 30 of a water jet ship while the rear end is extended toward a transom flange 37 and connected thereto, a space part where the suction duct is not arranged is formed at a part of the suction duct flanges 33e, 37a are respectively provided at each end of the suction duct at the space part, and an adjusting duct 33Y is produced by two mating flanges 33m, 33n, facing the flanges on the duct side, and a short duct 33p arranged between the two mating flanges to keep the adjusting duct arranged at the space part while the mating flanges are fitted to each other to be fastened by bolts, thereby completing the suction duct. The adjusting duct can be assembled outside the ship by adopting flat welding while coating can be executed in parallel inside the ship. Consequently, the building period can be significantly reduced.
