Title:
METHOD OF CAKING SLUDGE WITH CEMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5814998
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To limit muddy sludge-handling and to simplify the whole of the system, by directly throwing dewatered smoke-washing waste water sludge into a kneader having drying power, drying the sludge and mixing it with cement in the same kneader, and then forming the mixture.

CONSTITUTION: A kneader 22 is provided with a kneading and agitating means 32, which is rotated by a means 31, and a kneading pan 33 (which may be constructed into a rotatable state itself). The kneader 22 is also provided with an inlet for drying hot air (ordinary at 300°C or lower) and an outlet for dried exhaust gas. Dewatered sludge directly thrown into the kneader 22 comes in contact with the hot air, while the fresh surface of the sludge is formed at any times by the means 32. In this way, the sludge is effectively dried. At a proper period during drying, a part or whole of additive cement is thrown into the kneader, so that mixing the sludge with the cement is easily effectively done. Thereafter, the mixture is dried up to water content suited to a forming condition. After the sludge is dried up to the fixed water content, the dried sludge may be additionally mixed with cement at need. The mixed sludge is formed by a caking machine 23.
