A method for calculating an additive effect of an anthraquinone compound, includes: obtaining a correlation between a value regarding an index indicating an effect of the addition of the anthraquinone compound in a cooking process of a lignocellulose material and a ratio (S/G ratio) of a decomposition product of syringyl-type lignin to a decomposition product of guaiacyl-type lignin, both decomposition products being obtained by decomposing the lignocellulose material; then on the basis of the correlation, analyzing a decomposition product of a lignin component for the lignocellulose material as a calculation object to obtain the S/G ratio; and then calculating the additive effect of the anthraquinone compound to the lignocellulose material.
